Is this good?
I just bought GW today and the necromancer prof looks really cool to me and I was thinking about going Ranger for secondary to get the pet ability..Is this a good combo? I understand some may be better but I kinda wanna go necro primary and if theres a better combo to go with my secondary then I'll gladly take any input..thanks ahead of time for any help

It will help you out early on to have a pet, but as you get into the game, most people will dump them in place of 2 other skills in their skill bar.
Right now I have the reverse, a Ranger/Necro, with a pet and minions. It works well for me. |

Ranger is a good secondary but you might not want to get it just for the pet. Although the ranger has some pet skills the pet overall is not that great. Think about the other choices before you choose.

That makes sense...out of curiosity what would as a secondary compliment the primary necro?

To be honest, its what suits you best. There is no real "good" combo in guild wars... granted that there are certain unpopular combos (N/R not being one of them) that people tend to stay away from. In my opinion I would play around with the second profession skills, the ones that you can temporarily recieve from trainers, and see if you like it.
